Information for In-Person Teaching

Face masks are only required in the 学生健康中心. 学生, 教师, staff, and visitors are always welcome to wear a mask. L.A. County Department of Public Health offers rules and recommendations regarding masking following COVID-19 infection or exposure

Surgical masks are available for students, 教师, and staff in dispensers located in buildings throughout campus, often near main entrances, 楼梯间, 或者在不同的楼层. The dispensers also offer hand sanitizer.

N95 respirators are available to 教师 and staff upon request. You can request an N95 respirator on the Risk Management and EHS website 使用 N95 Respirator Request Form (Online). Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as clear-panel masks and gloves, are available for those who have job responsibilities necessitating use. Should you need these items, please contact your resource manager, 迪安, or associate 迪安.

教师 can contact their college resource managers, 迪安, or associate 迪安 to get required personal protective equipment, including cleaning supplies.

Physical distancing and barrier requirements have been eliminated on campus, in line with state and county public health guidance. 

The University cannot disclose infection, 疫苗接种, or exemption status of students to non-medical or health agency personnel.

If a student informs a 教师 member that they have tested positive for COVID-19, the 教师 should advise the student to contact the 学生健康中心 immediately and may also contact the 学生健康中心 directly with this information at 323-343-3300.

No, the 教师 member should advise the student to contact the 学生健康中心, which will confirm the positive test result and advise the student regarding appropriate actions.

In such cases, 教师 may teach remotely for the short period in which they are self-isolating. 在某些情况下, it may be preferable for the department and/or college to provide coverage in a course.

We will follow the usual practice of having the department and/or college manage course coverage in the event of an extended illness or absence. 

教师 members shall schedule office hours consistent with the mode of instruction e.g., face-to-face, online, hybrid, or field-based modes.

Make sure the student is aware of the assignments and has access to the necessary course materials. Please work with your department chair as needed.
