The Pan African Studies Master program provides students with an opportunity for structured 研究生 study in the multidimensional discipline of Pan African Studies. 显式地, the intent of the program is to produce well-prepared individuals to function as both scholars and activists who are prepared to use their knowledge, 技能, and competencies needed to enhance the lives of communities of people of African descent.

Preference will be given to applicants with under研究生 degrees and extensive coursework 泛非研究 (Black Studies, 非裔美国人研究, 或非洲研究). There are no course prerequisites for admission to the program.
Submit the following materials through the Cal State Apply website by 2023年3月15日.

PAS 5995:项目
Applied or practical Pan Africanism is a central aspect of the 加州大学洛杉矶分校 Master of Arts 泛非研究. 学生 who choose to complete a thesis project are expected to take the intellectual and philosophical 组件 of the field and produce tangible and beneficial outcomes with, in, 或非洲/黑人社区和空间. 在大多数情况下, the master’s project will involve scholarly writing that the student submits in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the master’s degree. The general structure of the written project could include the following: introduction; theoretical or conceptual approach; appropriate literature or historical context; the project description, 组件, plan, and implementation; project status and results; and conclusions. Sample projects may include a film script or film; a nonprofit or for-profit business, 政治组织, 或者社会项目(例如.g., after-school program); or a charter school document or program.
