Journalism Minor

Countdown to show

The Journalism Minor was introduced the Fall 2022 semester. The 18 credits of coursework emphasize both theoretical understanding and practical application of the news industry in contemporary society. After completing the minor, students will report, write and edit on multiple platforms and critically analyze and adopt journalism best practices. Classes cover legal and social responsibilities and ethical issues in the field and the newsroom. The Minor also covers the roles and responsibilities of the press in American democracy and covers how journalists serve the public good without exception or bias to gender, gender identity, race, religion, ethnicity, or socioeconomic standing.
